Mental Health Counselor

  • Job Summary:

  • The Mental Health Counselor serves as the primary consultant for working with individuals, families, groups, and organizations to deal with mental health issues and improve mental well-being that may hinder academic or workplace outcomes. The Mental Health Counselor represents just one professional as a member of a multidisciplinary team that specifically works with people dealing with cognitive, behavioral, and emotional challenges. The Mental Health Counselor may perform special education counseling evaluations, functional behavior assessments, collect data, develop and monitor implementation of Individualized Education Program (IEP) goals/objectives to ensure access for students with emotional or behavioral problems and related disorders, and provide consultation services to staff, outside agencies, and families regarding the needs of students.
  • Minimum Qualification Requirements:

  • - Master’s Degree in Social Work, Psychology, or a related field

  • - Valid Licensure as defined by the Texas State Board of Examiners of

  • - Psychologist as an Licensed Specialists School Psychologist (LSSP),

  • - Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC), Licensed Professional Counselor

  • - Assistant (LPC-A), Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT),

  • - Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW)

  • - Pediatric or school-based experience (preferred)

  • - Remote, PRN, and/or Campus-Based positions
